The Development of Ping On Ointment Co., Ltd.
In the 1950s, Master Chow Kin opened a traumatology clinic in Hong Kong to practice medicine. He used traditional physiotherapy techniques to relieve patients' bone and joint injuries and pain. By the mid - 1960s, Ping On Ointment was successfully developed. Initially, it was only used by patients visiting the clinic. Due to its remarkable efficacy in treating symptoms such as muscle soreness, mosquito and insect bites, and minor burns, it gradually gained fame through word - of - mouth among users. This ointment was originally named 《Bone-setting and Rheumatism Ping On Ointment》. With its mild formula and multiple - effect curative properties, it gradually evolved from a medicine used only in the clinic to a health product for the general public. Relying on solid clinical feedback and public praise, 《Bone-setting and Rheumatism Ping On Ointment》 gradually expanded its business territory in the following days, and finally became a professional pharmaceutical production enterprise. In the early days, the ointment was contained in small glass bottles. Each bottle weighed approximately 15 grams and was sold at HK$1 per bottle. Additionally, there was also an ointment with 5 grams per bottle, and three bottles could be bought for HK$1.
After the official trademark registration in 1965,the ointment was packed in plastic case.

Product Promotion and Expansion of Sales Network Since the ❬ PING ON OINTMENT ❭ was introduced in the 1960s, the product has gradually expanded from being used exclusively in medical clinics to being sold on the market. The first batch of sales channels included: Chu Kwong Lan Wine, Tobacco, Medicine and Tea Store in Wan Chai, Leung Kwok Ying Pharmacy, Sai Kwong Pharmacy on Pak Ho Street in Kowloon, and Leung Kwok Ying Pharmacy in Sham Shui Po.Subsequently: wholesalers such as Chung Ching Pharmacy, Ngai Sang Hong, Lee Man Pharmaceutical, Tai Wah Pharmaceutical, Po Shing Pharmaceutical, Hoi Shan Hong, and numerous pharmacies in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories gradually joined the sales ranks.In recent years, the product has further entered chain retail systems such as Mannings and Watsons, forming a diversified sales network.
Company Relocation History In March 1990, the company relocated to the 2nd floor of 147 - 149 Queen's Road West, and officially established "Ping On Ointment Co., Ltd.", operating here for more than twenty years.In November 2011, due to the acquisition of this land by the Urban Renewal Authority of the government, the company moved to the factory building of Hing Wai Centre, 7 Praya Road, Tin Wan, Aberdeen and continued its operations.
